Sponsored Network Rail’s delivery of the £5bn Thameslink programme, holding senior Network Rail management to account on delivering the remaining £200m works of the programme.Chaired senior cross-industry steering group charged with delivering £150m of train depot investment as part of the Thameslink programme. Management of HMG’s rolling stock contracts with Siemens, overseeing the introduction of 115 new trains.

Led on the financial sponsorship of the £15bn Crossrail project, which required close working with co-sponsors Transport for London and the delivery body, Crossrail Ltd.Led DfT’s sponsorship of Network Rail in delivering the £2.3bn On Network Works programme.Identified cross-cutting risks to the multi-billion pound HS2, Crossrail and airport expansion programmes and led a complex negotiation with Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL) senior management.

Airports Commission: Led on the high-profile and politically sensitive costs assessment of each competing multi-billion pound bid for additional airport capacity, which required close working with the airports and technical consultants and developing a comprehensive understanding of airport costs and revenue bases. Corporate Finance: Led the Secretary of State’s shareholding in National Air Traffic Services. This involved leading on all advice to Ministers on a high-profile share sale of the private sector consortium, The Airline Group.
