As a tutor for King's College, UQ, my role is to assist students studying courses within my area ofexpertise with assignments and course content to ensure they achieve the best education outcomespossible. This often includes reviewing essay structure/argument construction, thesis analysis,referencing assistance, and grammatical expression. Assisting students with university level contenthas also strengthened my knowlege in these areas as their chosen assignment topics and focus areasmay sometimes fall outside of my remit, allowing me to be exposed to new ideas and perspectives Iotherwise would not have encountered.

It was essential for me to developand maintain great relationships with students and parents as well as be able to explain complexmathematic, scientific, and linguistic problems in such a way that my students of all levels couldunderstand. Often, tutoring sessions would be rescheduled or moved around, so it was critical for meto be incredibly flexible and have great time management skills. In summary, the job required a lot ofpatience, communication, flexibility, time management and of course a robust knowledge of the relevantmaterial.
