Accountable for managing a programme of work and associated team for a number of voltage support projects. This included Synchronous Condenser refurbishment and STATCOM installation. The overall programme had a ~$150m capital budget. I also held position of Employers Representative role for two of the STATCOM projects within the programme.Along with this, I continued my accountabilities for the delivery of the control and protection systems of the HVDC Pole 3 Project.

This is a project role specifically accountable for the delivery of the Secondary Systems (controls, protection and auxiliary supply) aspects of the Pole 3 HVDC project (~$670m capital project value). The role purpose is ensuring that the optimum technical solution is delivered against the contract requirements. This was achieved through matrix management of various internal resources, and engagement of external consultants where required (team of approx. 17 involved directly).

These are the mission critical operational engineering systems that support Transpower's real time operations. The team comprised 9 staff and consisted of Solution Designers, Business Analysts and Technical Specialists.

Provision of Project Management and leadership for delivery of Network and Customer projects from an identified need to an optimal solution including project approval. This involves managing, coordinating and integrating inputs from various groups within Transpower. Management of consultants was also a vital skill along with project, time and budget management.Key Achievement included scoping and approval of ~$130m of projects and management of suppliers and associated tendering for an SVC in the Auckland region.

This was a senior engineering role specialising in transmission system protection. Responsible for managing protection investigations budget, consultants and internal resources. Developed transmission protection standards, policies, and associated tools. Provided transmission protection engineering expertise as required. Scope and review design reports.Key achievements included completion of business case and handover to remove protection load constraints on 59 circuits, development of interconnecting transformer standard design.
