Growing up in central North Carolina, the weather was always changing and throughout the four seasons, we would experience all types of weather from warm, sunny days to tornadoes and snow. There has never been a more interesting phenomenon. The weather is always changing and when it is at it's most furious, I am at my best. During the most recent tornado to strike Greensboro in 2018, I was the first crew on the ground delivering the un-imaginable sights and sounds with live reports. WXII-TV received a Regional Emmy Award for the coverage following the storm, which I was honored to be a part of. During Hurricane Dorian in the summer of 2019, I assisted with the coverage along the Outer Banks of North Carolina as the eye of the storm passed approximately 50 miles off-shore. With each major weather event not only am I able to immerse myself into the conditions but deliver information for the weather team to build a better forecast and inform the viewers both on-air and social media.My role at WSET has given me an opportunity to fulfill my goals as an on-air meteorologist. But it is merely a stepping stone for my future. I implement my knowledge into forecasts as well as reporting in the Danville Bureau. I have experience with live shots, breaking weather situations including wall-to-wall tornado warning coverage. Experience with MAX graphics and doppler radar.
