Servicing the locomotives at Tee’s Yard. Will soon be getting a license to move the trains around the yard and forklift driving licence. Locomotives come into the yard for a preparation and service which is a fit to run check making sure the train is fuelled has sand in sand boxes and compressor and engine oil. I also conduct break tests visual inspection on the bogies and break pads if necessary. A-exams are also part of my daily routine which there is more in depth work that a preparation and service. If the train is requested an oil sample we also collect the sample for this. Faults can be found on these train when they come in and it is up to me to use my initiative to fix or come up with a solution to keep the train in service on time and with a well thought out reliable plan.
