Living history portrayals of Colonel George Washington from 1754-1775 before he became the well known Revolutionary War General and first president of the United States. Responsibilities include research of primary and secondary source materials, synthesis of information into written and improvised performance pieces for audiences ranging in size from 1 person to 500, engagement with school groups and donors, online content, written materials, videography, etc. Regularly presents in historical spheres such as farming, economy politics, the institution of slavery, military life, religion, stress and trauma, and family life. The purpose is to present the person of the past in such a way as to demonstrate their humanity, both good and bad, success and failure. Diverse, modern audience are provided connections so they may relate to, understand, and engage with complex and, at times, hard truths of history.

Rainier Middle School

Working with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Title Math and Title Reading classes. Responsibilities included leading classroom instruction for small groups, assessing students for various benchmark requirements, dealing with discipline and classroom management, data entry, and meeting with administrative staff to assist and grow students in various intervention classes.Additional work in the Adaptive Behavior Pathways Program. Working in a closed classroom with outreach into gen-ed classes.

Working with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Title Math and Title Reading classes. Worked in elementary, middle, and high schools in positions ranging from history, to math, to physical education. Assisted at an alternative high school for passively at risk students called York River Academy. Assisted special education students as a substitute teacher and as a substitute para-educator. Responsibilities included science, math, history, English, computer technology and academic labs. Served in a long-term substitute special education teacher position working with middle school students at Grafton Middle School. Areas included inclusive math, history, English, PE, and Academic lab classes as well as one on one with the students and in small groups. Assisted in administering tests and worked closely with on math, history, and English. Also assisted in the developmentally delayed classroomwith basic educational activities, socialization, problem solving, conflict resolution, and activities.

18th Century Military Program instructing students and other guests in the method of warfare in the Continental Army. Included drill mastery, blackpowder firearms proficiency and safety, group dynamic, performance, and interpretation.

Required to perform in depth research on their assignments and transform that research into usable material in a public speaking and educational format. Must be able to memorize scripts quickly and effectively, as well as carry on interactions with potentially hundreds of people without any prior preparation. Must be able to work as part of a group to write scenes, present concepts and ideas to management, and implement changes at any time. Other duties as assigned

This included assisting a former professor, Dr. Mark Wilson, regarding his work in the field of ancient history and archaeology. Responsibilities included research, editing, powerpoint preparation, poster creation, trip organization and management, grading.
