Responsibilities include research of primary and secondary source materials, synthesis of information into written and improvised performance pieces for audiences ranging in size from 1 person to 500, engagement with school groups and donors, online content, written materials, videography, etc. Regularly presents in historical spheres such as farming, economy politics, the institution of slavery, military life, religion, stress and trauma, and family life. The purpose is to present the person of the past in such a way as to demonstrate their humanity, both good and bad, success and failure. Diverse, modern audience are provided connections so they may relate to, understand, and engage with complex and, at times, hard truths of history.
