As a senior staff member at the 501(c)(3) US Chess Federation, I oversee all external and internal communication channels for the national chess governing body with 112,000 members. This includes our print publications, website, social media, press releases, marketing, and brand management. In my previous capacity as Director of Publications, I was the second-longest serving editor of Chess Life magazine, the organization's flagship publication which has been in continuous existence since 1946. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Augusta College (now named Augusta University). I have earned multiple awards from the Chess Journalists of America, an organization of which I am also a past president. On a freelance basis, I served as editor of and wrote the introduction for the book "World Chess Championship: Carlsen v. Karjakin: New York, 2016," named Book of the Year by the Chess Journalists of America in 2018, and as editor of "The Sinquefield Cup: Celebrating Five Years 2013-2017" (published in 2018). As part of my US Chess duties, I was the managing editor of the 7th Edition of the "US Chess Federation’s Official Rules of Chess," taking it from Word doc all the way through the Kindle Direct Publishing process to create both a print and eBook.I have completed four marathons, including the 2014 New York City Marathon for which I created a fundraiser for US Chess scholastic chess programs, an initiative that was featured on the NYC Marathon website.
