Lower School Support Teacher
Job responsibilities includes working with two main teachers in the third and fourth-year classroom of 30 students. Also working with all five other third and fourth-year teachers, 60 children, and the entire Lower School community. This support teaching position will be responsible for children ages 8-10 in our multi-age unit during school day. Responsible for working closely with the team and providing support for their teaching team’s instructional and administrative needs. Working collaboratively with the Lead Teachers and grade level team on a range of tasks (major areas of responsibility: administrative tasks and supervision).Facilitating a positive classroom community rooted in restorative practices and peaceful conflict resolution.Facilitating positive behavior management; supporting students as daily issues related to social/behavioral/emotional situations arise.Assuming the role of the Lead Teacher when a Lead Teacher is away from the classroom.Upholding the mission and values of Carolina Friends School and being a positive and active member of the community.Assisting the children in their work and play, including outside and inside recess duties.Maintaining a professional relationship and effectively communicating with teachers and other CFS community members.Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the Head Teacher.Participate in the Lower School Staff weekly meetings as requested and all other all-school professional development days.
