Job responsibilities includes working with two main teachers in the third and fourth-year classroom of 30 students. Also working with all five other third and fourth-year teachers, 60 children, and the entire Lower School community. This support teaching position will be responsible for children ages 8-10 in our multi-age unit during school day. Responsible for working closely with the team and providing support for their teaching team’s instructional and administrative needs. Working collaboratively with the Lead Teachers and grade level team on a range of tasks (major areas of responsibility: administrative tasks and supervision).Facilitating a positive classroom community rooted in restorative practices and peaceful conflict resolution.Facilitating positive behavior management; supporting students as daily issues related to social/behavioral/emotional situations arise.Assuming the role of the Lead Teacher when a Lead Teacher is away from the classroom.Upholding the mission and values of Carolina Friends School and being a positive and active member of the community.Assisting the children in their work and play, including outside and inside recess duties.Maintaining a professional relationship and effectively communicating with teachers and other CFS community members.Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the Head Teacher.Participate in the Lower School Staff weekly meetings as requested and all other all-school professional development days.

Support the Director of Technology Curriculum and Innovation and the Director of Technology Operations and Innovation. Provide school wide technology operations support in the areas of research, helpdesk, documentation, imaging, and inventory. Provide school wide curricular support through staff development, design thinking, project ideation, classroom consulting, and digital fabrication among other areas. Technology Support - Provide technology support through the school’s helpdesk software. Maintain a supportive technology department presence across campus. Duties include, but are not limited to: Anticipating the technological needs of faculty, staff and students. Troubleshoot problems related to technology. Repair and/or replace broken components. Monitor and replace printer toner across campus. Image computers as needed. Manage under-warranty repairs. Maintain an inventory of technology equipment and consumables. Support special projects through research, design, and installation. Innovation Support – Provide support to teachers and students in innovation. Duties include but are not limited to supporting students and teachers in using digital fabrication design software, making low-tech prototypes, utilizing design thinking processes to support faculty and students in the realization of their ideas, and using technology resources to support student project work goals. Additionally responsible for running and maintaining digital fabrication machines such as the 3D Printer and Laser Cutter. Plan and prepare training materials as needed for staff development.

Provide a safe, educational and fun environment for students after school ends. Coordinate a healthy snack and activities for three hours every day after class is over. Aid the students in development of life skills such as problem solving, social skills, accountability and emotional management. Build relationships with students and their families. Have fun!

I am an intern at an elementary school here in New Orleans. I help teachers to utilize technology. The goal is to incorporate technology into every teacher's lesson plans. I work with lots of software. Such as Microsoft Office, MovieMaker, Achieve3000, Compass Learning Odyssey, Blackboard, ActivInspire, Qwizdom, Scantron, and more.

I am great at helping teenagers learn pro-social behaviors. I just relocated to NOLA, and I am in need of a full time position. I would prefer something in the field of education, but I am open minded at this time. I moved to New Orleans, LA with my fiance, as she is attending Medical School. During that time, I have picked up any work I could find, such as landscaping and other such odd jobs.
