Commercial Manager on the £70m Verdo project, from commencement of piling through to completion, delivering 253nr OMS apartments, 2nr commercial units, sizeable amenity spaces, landscaped podium gardens & S278 works. The build utilised a prefabricated superstructure to form 3nr residential towers, positioned on a traditional rc frame podium.Despite severe industry complexities (Brexit, Covid closures, labour & material shortages, high inflation & a company restructure), the project maintained a great team ethos, strong relationships with all stakeholders and was delivered below budget and on programme.

I commercially led the construction of the £55million, fifth and final phase of 375 Kensington High Street (Benson House & Edward House - 102nr OMS apartments) from midway through RC frame construction to completion.After a period of time in cost planning for the Royal Warwick Square project (£175million), I moved onto the £100million Kensington Row project to support in closing out the final year of construction of 160nr OMS / Affordable units, obtaining a promotion to Senior QS in the process.I spent my final 2 years, with Berkeley, at Hartland Village (Hampshire) providing commercial support during the prolonged pre-con planning period of the new 1,500nr unit scheme. I continued with the team into the construction phase, commercially leading the delivery of a prefabricated bespoke S&M Suite, the 2nr Show Houses, stunning entrance street scene (which included the completion of a beautiful feature bridge and lake), a significant proportion of the site wide demo & remediation package, as well as all Phase 1 (181nr units) to oversite.

I spent a short spell with VCUK working on the Battersea Place Retirement Villiage project.I was the Project QS responsible for the procurement of interior works packages.The new build project consisted of 109nr Residential Properties (including 4nr Luxury Penthouses), 30nr Nursing Care Rooms and various Communal Facilities, including a Swimming Pool, all designed to a high specification.

Quantity Surveying / Contract Administration role on the prestigious $7.2billion King Abdulaziz International Airport Development Project (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) within the procurement team based in the UK (visiting when necessary). Areen were utilised to internally design and procure all associated material and installation packages.My role was primarily as package lead overseeing 3nr Surveyors in the delivery of the extremely technically complicated $35m lighting procurement package, taken from $0 to over $34m procured during my time here.

Joining initially as a Trainee QS, studying on day release, I gained a superb grounding in private and public sector main contracting for an array of clients, developing an increased level of responsibility, until eventually departing as an established Project QS.Project values were from £50k to £17m and clients included:- British Telecom- National Health Service- Ministry of Defence- University of Sussex- Partnerships for Schools- Thames Valley Police- University of Westminster- British Broadcasting CompanyOriginating my career with a main contractor, successfully delivering commercial projects at a fast pace, gave me an unrivalled early exposure to multiple forms of contract and (importantly) developed my surveying technique through multiple experiences through the project life cycle.
