I am a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a graduate of O’Gorman High School.I obtained a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2005. I went on to graduate from the University of South Dakota receiving both my Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees in 2008. While in law school, I was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, as well as a coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. In 2006 and 2007 I held summer internships with Cutler Law Firm, LLP. At Cutler Law Firm, my areas of practice were focused in business organizations and transactions, telecommunications, utilities and energy law, banking and financial law, real estate law and construction law. On February 1, 2021, I joined Lloyd Companies as General Counsel. Here I lead strategic legal initiatives centered on achieving the company’s goals. I advise senior management on strategies and implementation, manage the legal function, and obtain and oversees the work of outside counsel. I also work on complex business transactions, negotiating critical contracts and managing claims and litigation matters that may arise.I try to be actively involved in my community, serving on the boards of directors for the St. Francis House, Ronald McDonald House, and Washington Pavilion. In addition, I have served on the Board of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, Sioux Empire United Way, Siouxland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, Young Professionals Network, Sioux Falls Food Coop and was a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the 2025 Downtown Plan. I am a graduate of Leadership Sioux Falls 25.
