During my role, I was responsible for renovation, repairs, new construction, access control, space assignments, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, asset management, and fleet management.Accomplishments;• Improved productivity by purchasing and implementing videoconferencing and teleconferencing technologies.• Saved thousands of dollars by bringing poster printing capability in-house. Evaluated various systems. Selected, purchased, and installed the new equipment.• Took over management of the department website, including updates.• Led more than $500,000 in renovation and construction projects, including the buildout of a new laboratory.• Took over and turned around a faltering $200,000 laboratory renovation project. Resolved issues with contractors, reprioritized aspects of the project, and completed the project on schedule, avoiding more than $100,000 in costs due to penalties and lost revenue.• Managed an 11-month project to resolve building air quality issues by replacing all exhaust fans with new units.

My role as Systems Manager required me to provided Tier 1, 2, and 3 support for more than 200 faculty, students, and staff, including help desk and desk side services.Accomplishments;• Reduced risk by conducting phishing awareness training for all end users.• Increasing system uptime by conducting security audits and performing patching.• Key member of the IT team that improved the school’s risk profile by deploying an enterprise-level end point defense system for all buildings.• Increased productivity by leading the rollout of Skype for Business to all department end users.

Here, I maintainined more than 250 laptops and PCs/workstations, plus network equipment, printers, and mobile devices.Accomplishments;• Reduced trouble ticket response and problem resolution times as part of the team that implemented the school’s first ticketing system (Zendesk).• Actively involved in migrating from Zendesk to an internally developed ticketing system to reduce costs.• Played a key role in transitioning the department to the university’s unified Active Directory infrastructure.
