From traveling around the world hosting basketball camps for children to directing all aspects of two athletics programs at Moody Bible Institute, I have dedicated the past 25+ years of my life to leading, coaching, teaching and serving those with special needs.☑ Leading – Whether I’m directing a program, business, classroom or basketball team, I have held leadership positions throughout my career. In my current role as Athletic Director and Program Head of the Lifetime Fitness Camp; Sports Ministry Program at Moody Bible Institute, I oversee daily operations, strategic plans, budgets, resources, facilities, and direct reports. Recognized as a “collaborative, democratic” leader by colleagues, I am committed to growing and developing organizations, students, and individuals. I am also dedicated to using resources effectively. From state-of-the-art facilities to office supplies, I mobilize resources, create shared solutions, and promote positivity, efficacy, and efficiency in each leadership position.☑ Teaching – I believe we are always teaching others, whether we are in the formal role of “teacher” or not. Throughout my career, I have held formal and informal teaching positions. In my current position at Moody Bible Institute, I teach classes on physical education, wellness, and organizational administration. Prior to this role, I held secondary and post-secondary teaching positions at Warner Pacific University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and Orchard High School. I have also taught many students to play basketball, develop their leadership skills, and hone self-confidence as the director of 120+ basketball camps in 7 states and 13 countries.☑ Coaching – A five-time Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year with Moody Bible Institute, I build teams that focus on respect and discipline, unity, and individual needs. I do this by creating supportive, communicative, and goal-oriented cultures that effectively balance the desire to win with the love of the game and loyalty to teammates.☑ Serving Those with Special Needs – As the parent of an adult special needs child, I have made inclusivity a focus of my teaching, coaching, and leadership. I taught my students to adapt their physical education classes to those with special needs and have guided special needs students and staff members.
