Thermochemical Catalysis Engineer
CurrentIn NREL's National Bioenergy Center, I research with the heterogeneous catalysis and engineering team and manage the Fuel Synthesis and Catalysis Laboratory. I lead NREL's four-inch scale-up research gasifier and operate syngas to fuels catalysis reactors using a variety of engineering and technical capacities. My skills include:-Analyzing catalyst performance data-Simple material characterization-Co-leading projects-Managing documents including operating manuals, SOPs, management of change, technical notes-Creating and modifying process drawings including piping and instrumentation diagrams and 3D models-Performing engineering calculations such as mass balances, fluid dynamics, and solids flow-Troubleshooting and problem-solving-Developing a track-record of successful project management-Computer aided design of components, piping diagrams, and electrical diagrams including shop drawings and 3D renderings-Troubleshooting and repairing equipment-Designing reactor systems-Fabricating equipment-Performing process hazard analyses-Designing and fabricating simple electrical configurations-Control system design and programming-Attention to detail while holding a holistic perspective-Maintaining a safe and clean work environment-Working independently or in teams to deliver high-quality results within aggressive timelines-Technical writing-Following OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ASME, API and other codes and standards-Maintaining qualified electrical worker status
