Ensured the operational readiness of 42 separately deployable medical units, comprising of 16 highly skilled and specialized unit types geographically dispersed across 5 installations. Units included two Hospital Centers, three battalion level commands, one strategic medical laboratory, and one strategic medical logistics management center.Managed the Command Discipline Program. Through this program I participated in unit inventories for all standard and non-standard medical supplies and equipment. I was able to utilize expert problem-solving skills to identify shortfalls, and quickly develop and execute plans to overcome them.Oversaw all medical material, and medical equipment orders. Developed procedures to review and process all procurement requests within the brigade. Coordinated with vendors for non-standard medical supplies and equipment to ensure all units were operationally ready to do their assigned tasks.Served as the lead Defense CBRN Response Force (DCRF) logistics planner coordinating logistics efforts across a diverse joint and multi-component task force. Collaborated with Air Force, FEMA, and other outside agencies to ensure readiness for missions. Conducted fact finding and analysis to determine stock availability of medical supplies, identify vendors for needed items, and recommend suitable supplements to fill shortfalls.Tasked by the BDE commander to assist civilian hospitals during the COVID pandemic. Traveled to multiple states for 6 months to assess outside civilian hospitals’ needs/shortfalls, including personnel and logistical requirements. Participated in tours of each hospital with the CEO, COO, and Chief of logistics to verify needs, and make recommendations for fulfilling those needs/shortfalls.Selected by the brigade commander to serve as the Brigade Executive Officer (XO) for four months during the interim period before the future XO arrived (February 2023 to June 2023).

Managed existing and future medical planning in the Multifunctional Medical Battalion (MMB), including deliberate and crisis planning. Additionally, planned future operations exceeding 72 hours and prepared major regional contingency plans for the organization. Responsible for preparing, authenticating and publishing medical plans prepared by other staff sections. Supervised the activities of Medical logistics, medical operations, preventive medicine, and behavioral health sections.Oversaw and reviewed all standard and non-standard medical material, and medical equipment orders from the medical logistics company. Ensured all orders utilized the established budget in a logical, reasonable, and feasible manner. Developed procedures to review and process all procurement requests. Coordinated with vendors for non-standard medical supplies and equipment to ensure all units were operationally ready to fulfill their assigned tasks.Participated in division level inventories within the organization. Assisted in identifying short falls within the division, and aided division heads in fact finding and analysis to address those short falls. Utilized interchangeability and suitable supplements to fill gaps where standard medical material and equipment were not available. Conducted market research for multiple vendors to establish the best price for the required material and equipment.

Ensured the operational readiness of 43 units, and over 2,500 Soldiers at Fort Cavazos, and 3 other military installations across three separate states. Responsible for planning, coordination, and implementation of all logistics functions. Provided oversite for property management, general supply and services, medical supply and services, all maintenance operations, equipment modernization, and facilities management with unit property valued in excess of $400 million. Advised the chief of logistics and the director on all logistical matters and assisted in the shaping of logistical support.During the planning phase before assuming the DCRF mission, conducted extensive fact finding and analysis to identify shortfalls of the assigned units. Coordinated with the logistics personnel and vendors to ensure all units had the necessary material and equipment before mission assumption. Expertly ensured interchangeable material and equipment were utilized after careful analysis of suitability, and the best price for non-standard material/equipment from the vendor.Determined the appropriate vendor to procure short falls within the organization for both medical and non-medical material and equipment. Conducted analysis on material availability from each vendor, price, and appropriate shipment time.

Responsible for maintaining the combat readiness, health, morale discipline, and safety of 36 officers, and 38 enlisted Soldiers. Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of property on 3 separate property books to include organic equipment and theater-provided equipment. Managed the development and execution of training, and maintenance programs ensuring operational readiness.Expertly performed property inventory for 3 different property books, and established security procedures for securing property overseas. Resulted in zero loss of property to the government and a smooth transition for the next division chief.Determined how property book items should be stocked and stored. Ensured all items that were temperature-sensitive were stored in appropriate areas. Identified that some items were being store inappropriately and required shelving. Acted immediately to acquire appropriate shelving and fix the discrepancy. Result was zero loss of material and equipment due to improper or unsecure storage.Also performed the duties of the chief of logistics, and budget analyst during the organization’s deployment overseas.Actively made recommendations to the director for the budget by utilizing fact finding and analysis to project reasonable and responsible spending. Established trends throughout the organization to adjust the budget as needed.Acted as the organiztion’s Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and managed all contracts for the BDE while overseas. Entered budgeted information into appropriate databases, including Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) and General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), to set up and pay vendors for contracts. All contracts were paid on time, work was assessed, and there was no loss of contracts.

Provided direct medical logistics and maintenance support to 6 units within the organization, and external support to 56 units on Fort Cavazos, TX. Responsible for the readiness, health, morale, discipline, safety, and professional development of two officers and 68 enlisted Soldiers. Also responsible for the accountability and maintenance of property worth over $7 million.Initiated, reviewed, and processed all standard and non-standard medical material, and medical equipment procurement requests. Ensured all orders utilized the established budget in a logical, reasonable, and feasible way. Developed procedures to review and process all procurement requests. Coordinated with vendors for non-standard medical supplies and equipment to ensure all units were operationally ready to do their assigned tasks.Managed and determined how all medical items were to be stored and stocked in accordance with product guidance, including temperature-controlled items. Performed monthly inventories of available stock and rotated new stock with old stock to ensure all material followed the “first in, first out” cycle.Coordinated with Installation Medical Supply Agency (IMSA) personnel for orders, storage of medical supplies, pickup of medical material, and drop off of expired medical material.
