Daniel S. Edelman, D.O. currently works as regional Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Chief Population Health Officer (CPHO) for Cleveland Clinic in Florida. " I feel that the CMIO role allows me to deliver the best healthcare possible to largest audience possible"Everyone that has worked with Dr. Edelman can readily state that he has passion for what he does. His primary focus is decreasing variability and optimizing outcomes in healthcare delivery. In that regard, he views the roles of CMIO and Chief Population Health Officer as complimentary.In his new role, Dr. Edelman leads regional initiatives related to the optimization of EMR/EHR software and applications, leveraging medical and health data to improve services and daily operations, and standardizing care delivery. His responsibilities include the integration of clinical data across multiple information systems in order to create a seamless experience for our patients. A board-certified internist, Dr. Edelman has been an advocate of using information technology to improve workflow and patient care throughout his career. He joined Martin Health System in 2004 as a hospitalist and was selected in 2010 as an Epic Physician Champion, helping introduce and implement the EPIC electronic medical record system across Martin Health facilities.  Most recently, Dr. Edelman served as Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Chief Population Health Officer for Martin Health System, as well as Chief Medical Officer for Treasure Coast Integrated Healthcare, the system’s first accountable care organization (ACO). He has been a driver of population health initiatives and well care for the community and continues these efforts in his new role.
