Strategic Communications & Media Specialist, Global South
CurrentRMI’s Global South Program works across three core geographies - Africa, Southeast Asia, and island nations - to address barriers to the energy transition and achieve radical implementation at scale. RMI tackles these challenges using upstream, midstream, downstream, and cross-cutting interventions.In the upstream, we demonstrate inclusive energy planning and policy processes that create the enabling environment for investment. In the mid-stream, we test and pilot projects to address a wide range of energy needs. Downstream, we provide climate finance access support to countries that have not received their fair share of funding. Cross-cutting all of this is our unique approach to capacity building and workforce development.Content Creation:- Develop compelling stories, press releases, blogs, case studies, and social media posts to showcase the impact of the Global South Program.- Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex energy concepts into accessible language for various audiences.- Produce multimedia content (videos, infographics, podcasts) to drive engagement.Media:- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers in the Global South and international markets.- Craft and distribute press releases, opinion pieces, and articles to maximize media coverage.- Monitor media coverage and provide reports on communications impact.Social Media and Digital Strategy:- Manage and grow the program's social media presence, ensuring regular, high-quality content delivery.- Design and implement social media campaigns to highlight key initiatives and milestones.- Track digital engagement metrics and adjust strategies as needed.Event Communications:- Support communications for key events, conferences, and webinars.- Liaise with external partners to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
