About Daniel Engel

I am a PhD Candidate and NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities (NSTGRO) fellow in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am deeply fascinated with many fields within the aerospace industry and am particularly passionate about space exploration. Research areas and specific interests of mine include flight mechanics, mission design and analysis, and entry, descent and landing systems. My current research involves assessing hypersonic steering schemes for Mars entry vehicles.
