With 26 years of dedicated service to the DC Metropolitan Police Department, I bring a wealth of experience and leadership in law enforcement. Currently serving as Commander of the Youth and Family Services Division since June 2022, I have been entrusted with overseeing a team of over 100 sworn members, specializing in the investigations of missing persons, child physical and sexual abuse cases within the District of Columbia.Throughout my tenure, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in crime resolution. At the helm of the MPD/FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, I played a pivotal role in combating child exploitation. Prior to my role as Lieutenant, I served as a Sergeant, where I supervised detectives in investigations of homicides and natural deaths, demonstrating my ability to lead and manage complex investigations with precision and expertise. Additionally, as the first-line supervisor of a specialized unit within the First District Vice Unit, I directed the efforts of plainclothes narcotics officers and undercover officers, playing a crucial role in combating major drug crime within our community.My journey in law enforcement began as an Officer in 1998, where I served for nine years, including a two-year assignment with the Executive Office of the Assistant Chief of Police/Mobile Force. In this capacity, I contributed to efforts to reduce violent crime in targeted areas, gaining valuable experience in strategic law enforcement initiatives.
