I am an experienced commercial manager with wide retail and ecommerce experience. Much of my success has come from developing positive supplier relationships based on communication and trust, which allows me to influence decision making in a positive manner and also attracts confidence. Through strong negotiation and forecasting skills I feel I am able to analyse how trading performance is progressing and keep a close eye on the detail required to drive business forward.I like to be aware of how my role interacts across the business and I thrive in a fast-paced environment where a unified team is vital – where I see coaching and developing other members of the team as an essential element of success. Development of new product categories excites me and I enjoy the decision making and responsibility of forging links with new suppliers, whilst having a close eye on revenue, margin and sales. Another key area I like to give attention to is the negotiation of returns to ensure costs are securely planned for, so that commercial targets are achieved on time.In all buyer roles I have liaised closely with merchandisers, marketing teams and category planners to ensure that the team is driven towards secure financial objectives. Having worked in these roles in my earlier career, I feel I gained a real understanding of what makes a whole team succeed. In addition, I also like to exploit cross category opportunities to ensure a dynamic approach maximises all potential sales growth. I feel my experience provides sound commercial acumen, allowing me to approach all facets of buying and sales with confidence.
