Building Services Engineer
CurrentMost recently I joined Unite under the role Building Services Engineer. This role here is unique as it's tailored to the company requirements. I play a crucial part in keeping the building services running. As part of the estates team, I work closely with Facilities maintenance, allocating Routine PPMs in house or to our approved sub-contractors after reviewing tenders, this stems from inception, reviewing Rams and allocating permits right through till completion. I also regularly review and audit our plant rooms, completing detailed asset condition reports, recording all data, prioritizing risk and ultimately building a PPM plan specific to each plant room to prolong life expectancy of assets across 33 London plant rooms, included under this is reviewing of water risk assessment reports to ensure compliance in line with L8 legislation requirements. All works must be signed off on our EMMS (CAFM) system and in accordance with SFG20.I am the point of contact for FM’s and GMs, providing technical support for the on-site teams and reporting to the senior mechanical engineer. The estates team conduct regular meetings to review progress of works, expenditure and costings whilst having “student focus” as our priority
