After a gap year spent at Spirit of Adventure, as an instructor, I began my journey towards teaching at Clifton, as an intern, in 2012. This included being on the sports field during Physical Education and in the classroom to observe and learn. In 2015 I moved up to Cordwalles Prep School, in Pietermaritzburg, where I worked as an intern, sports coach and boarder master. A year later, in 2016, I was given the opportunity to be a senior master. During these two years my wife and I were married and we moved back down to Durban where I started at Clifton as a grade 5 teacher, in 2017. I have taught classes from grades four through to seven and a variety of subjects, which include Drama, English, Geography, History, Life Skills, Mathematics and Natural Science and Technology. I believe that I have the ability to empathize well with people, and especially children, and a good understanding of how to manage conflict situations. I have a very strong moral compass and a deep passion for guiding children towards being the best humans they can be, whilst also having the skills to think on their own rather than relying on external support. My goal is to raise confident, compassionate and inspired children who have all the tools to make their mark on the world. Outside of school, I have a love for photography and this has been a passion of mine for the last ten years. I have been in charge of the photography club at Clifton and I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to pass on my own knowledge and skills.
