I am currently employed with Laing O'Rourke as the supervisor of all ballasting and re surfacing duties involved in the construction of the “PHIHP”.My job entails the dropping of ballast using 2 different trains, one with hopper doors underneath that travels on already constructed track and is responsible for distributing the correct amount of ballast for the tamper and regulator to preform their jobs safely and in a timely manor.The other being a side tipper train generally used for… Show more I am currently employed with Laing O'Rourke as the supervisor of all ballasting and re surfacing duties involved in the construction of the “PHIHP”.My job entails the dropping of ballast using 2 different trains, one with hopper doors underneath that travels on already constructed track and is responsible for distributing the correct amount of ballast for the tamper and regulator to preform their jobs safely and in a timely manor.The other being a side tipper train generally used for the delivery of ballast for turnouts or stockpiles.It is also my role to get all the necessary safety permits needed, Create traffic management plans, Ensure all environmental issues are addressed and complete and submit all relative paperwork for BHP Billiton construction sites daily. I must also ensure ballast is delivered to site using a fleet of road trains through a sub-contractor, upon delivery I must then use the crew I have to safely load the appropriate train wagons with the various machinery I have on-site.Within my role I am also responsible for the safety and well being of the men in my crew, organizing and assigning jobs to keep them active throughout the entirety of the day. Previous to this I was working with Laing O'Rourke from start of the RGP5 rail duplication from Port Hedland to Newman as a leading hand. My duties included but were not limited to performing all aspects of constructing rail. E.g. measuring for tampers to clipping or unclipping rail for the flashbutt, putting in crossings and ballasting.I was given the job of leading the ballast crew without direct supervision; this opportunity arose when my supervisor at the time was seconded to superintendent. I also worked with Laing O'Rourke on their maintenance crew based in Port Hedland performing re-rail and a majority of the time on switch maintenance. I worked for upgrade carpentry at a more senior level in the construction industry in the construction of 6 homes.I was responsible for all timber orders, managing sub contractors, and also an apprentice who worked with us.

I worked at Jetcharm constructions for just over 5 years as a carpenter. Based in Manly NSW, my main role was to assist in the construction of residential homes, in and around Sydney. The skills I attained from working while at this company related to everything needed to build a home from the ground up including but not limited to..-form working-concreting-tiling-gib rocking-plastering-painting-decking-flooring- framing- roofing-landscaping
