I am the chair of the Children & Young People's Forum for the Royal College of Nursing. This national voluntary position has given me the opportunity to be a part of the lead voice for children and young people nursing across the United Kingdom. I also sit on the intercollegiate committee for Standards for Children and Young People in Emergency Care. committee is an intercollegiate group that provides expert advice on the emergency care of children. It works to influence policy proactively and respond to consultation documents relevant to urgent and emergency care.

As a childrens nurse, my responsibility is around coordinating and fulfilling the care of infants, children & young people coming through the department. We see patients that come through Ambulances & through our waiting room. I see children presenting with everything from Minor illnesses, injuries, General Paediatric illnesses, CAMHS presentations & resuscitations and stabilisations for transfer to other centres.As of June 2021, I was among the first Patient Safety Council formed within the Emergency Department. I have also been elected as chair.

The way we will aim to do this is through encouraging students to embrace social media, taking a responsible but not abstinence approach and through the creation and constantly updating a hub of relevant information.

While at the trust I worked mainly on an elderly care ward specialising in Parkinson’s and Dementia, however I also have experience on a Respiratory ward. My duties and responsibilities at the trust are to undertake the basic nursing activities for patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. I am responsible for basic nursing activities and the personal care of the patient’s. It is also my duty to accurately complete documentation and maintain accurate records. As well as the more clinical tasks such as taking observations, both using the machines and manually.

Mainly working in community care. Taking up social networking and writing Newsletters and Articles for information and advertising.

I was cross trained across all three platforms. Food preparation and cooking, meal construction and customer services.
