1) To explain complex subjects simply, you first have to understand them really well. 2) Good narratives are usually simple narratives. 3) To paraphrase the late statesman George Shultz (with whom I disagree on most things politically, but I'll take wisdom wherever I find it), "When trust is in the room, good things happen. When trust is not in the room, good things do not happen. Everything else is details." These three ideas have guided my career. I'm a creative director, UX content strategist, messaging strategist, writer, art director, servant leader, systems thinker, and creator of psychological safety. And while I'm a storyteller first, I understand enough about design, development, filmmaking and project management to give everyone what they need to do their best work—and then shepherd that work through client, brand, and legal approvals. Give me a job to do, and I'll get it done. At Tangible, we work on everything from interactive in-product workflows to enterprise websites, knowledge bases to animated explainers and live action video, integrated campaigns to the messaging strategy that underpins them. The variety suits my curious brain, and allows me to put my multidisciplinary background to good use. Clients include Intuit, Intel, and some we're not allowed to name.
