Teacher of Geography, Environmental Systems and Societies and current Head of Y11, responsible for developing and delivering the Geography curriculum in a growing school at KS3, IGCSE and IB level along with teaching IB ESS. I created modern and challenging schemes of work in line with recent curriculum changes and according to CIE and IB syllabus requirements. I offer exam booster sessions with a class success rate of 74% achieving A/A* (June 2012). I planned a variety of field excursions for both subjects within local and national settings. The pastoral role of Head of Y11 has involved managing a team of tutors, developing a mentor system for each Y11 student, regular parent communication and frequent academic reviews of student’s progress. Outside of these roles, I developed a school Eco Committee in line with the UK’s Eco Schools programme and established an environmental audit of the school and subsequently implemented a school recycling and energy reduction policy which achieved the Bronze Award. I introduced a school organic growing site for curriculum enhancement and school sustainability. As an International Award Leader, I contribute to the school’s IA programme with progressing students in their skill and service sections and lead adventurous expeditions to remote parts of Inner Mongolia and the Yellow Mountains. I am willing to assist with school’s extracurricular programme.

Duties included the preparation of supplementary teaching materials, assistance with classes taught by Japanese teachers, instruction of foreign language and participation in international exchange activities to foster ties between the UK and Japan.
