I am a jack-of-all-trades and a master of one: writing.I am a published and award-winning writer, with accolades and achievements in technical writing, fiction, teaching, and cinematography.Since 2023, I have served as the Lead Technical Writer for Amatrol, where I write and edit technical training materials in various fields. I manage a team of six writers tasked with providing technically-accurate, pedagogically-sound, student-centric technical writing that is used in industries around the world.I have taught at four public universities and colleges - including one Public Ivy, the University of Virginia. In my teaching career, I taught over a thousand students how to write compelling and effective prose, whether they were writing as scientists, engineers, doctors, or novelists. I designed and taught courses in technical writing, college writing, and creative writing, and was consistently one of the highest-rated professors in my departments.My fiction has appeared in Buffalo Cactus and Other Stories from the Southwest and Nimrod Journal, and my stage plays have won numerous awards and been performed on dozens of stages worldwide.Before recieving my MFA from the University of Virginia, I worked for ten years as a cinematographer and camera assistant in Hollywood. My cinematography credits include "Jealous of the Birds," an Official Selection at DOC NYC 2011.I have also enjoyed a lifelong passion for aviation. I hold an FAA Student Pilot certificate and, weather permitting, will earn my Sport certificate in March of 2024.
