For the past 15 years I have worked for General Dynamics NASSCO shipbuilding. I was hired as an electrician on the first vessel to be constructed for the TAKE class of supply oilers being built for the Government. Was promoted to electrical leadman for electrical hookup for SOC 5. At the beginning of the construction of the MLP ship contract award I was promoted to the position of designer and transferred from the Production department to the in the Engineering department in Outfit Engineering. Became expert level AVEVA CAD software suite user. As part of my job responsibilities I was required to maintain proficient knowledge of rules and regulations IEEE, SOLAS, ABS, Military standards and engineering system notes pertaining to each electrical system drawing as they apply to the design work assigned. Assigned to be person responsible for all cable routing and length estimation on MLP contract and TAO contract. Promoted to Senior designer and duties were extended to included team scheduling and active floor management of personnel and problem solving to remain on schedule. Able to work proficiently within the Microsoft Office environment including Microsoft Access. Responsibilities included cable management (lengths a within Outfit engineering and routing which was all managed through custom Microsoft access database requiring advance access use.
