With this appointment I continue to stay involved in botanical exploration and collecting in Indochina and in California. I continue to work on specimens collected in these regions to identify the collection, distribute specimens to specialists in the field, and assist with seeking and raising support to support continued botanical exploration, inventory and discovery.

As ED I led and completed the transition of the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History from a City of Santa Cruz supported organization to one administered by an independent non-profit, the Santa Cruz Museum Association. Transfer of ownership of the natural history collections, developing the organization, creating and implementing the Strategic Plan, and engaging with our community to raise continuing support for the SC Museum are priority efforts of this position.

Led all aspects of this complex museum operation, built and supported the diverse plant collections, lead fundraiser through federal, state and private grants, endowment, donations, and volunteer program enhancement, Raised majority of support for all Arboretum programs in research, education and public service.
