I worked for a large manufacturing company which manufactures large water-cooling towers and storage tanks. They also manufactured Air Handling Units, such as dust extractors and wet collectors.I produced detailed quotations and provided advice for clients, M&E contractors, customers the best type of equipment to suit their duty requirements and available footprint on site. I used selection programs to configure what type of fan is suited best for what towers, taking into consideration the power of what the fan will require, ensuring that the site can have the best duty/ per kW.I am confident to conduct technical calculations to check the tower sizes from the program and to confirm client’s specifications. I ensured that all quotations and projects are accurate for the client and upkeep a good profitable margin.We also had to specify pipework, valves and pumps were used to circulate the water. We worked with many different types of valves and pumps to ensure that the water was distributed safely and evenly over the cooling towers.I managed the spare component service alongside my full-time enquiries, which requires good customer service and cooling tower knowledge. I managed this process from; the initial enquiry, raising a project on SAGE 200 and SAGE CRM, to ordering all components from a variety of suppliers, dispatching, liaising with service yards, to the final invoicing and job closure.I also worked alongside a project manager to run refurbishment projects on existing towers on sites. Ensuring that our works comply with HSG274 (Legionella regulations). This was a fascinating position and which I learnt about professional standards within the industry. This type of work is renowned globally.

I previously worked on the TR-19 Project which has been brought in place as a legal legislation for duct work hygiene. I am in control of providing full safe access to the extraction duct work of many leading restaurant, bars & pubs. From quotation to final compliance certificates, I controlled the projects all the way through, ensuring no minor detail has been left behind.

To design and draw pipework, ductwork, chutes and bespoke fabrications. Design CNC profiles and DXF profiles. I am a fire warden within the business, I have to check all around the company to see if the emergency exits are clear, the emergency lighting is in order and that the fire extinguishers are in date and safe to use. Also, I have a ECITB (safety passport) to go out on site to take dimensions and various measurements to help design new pipelines and fabrications. Holding this safety passport I can also carry out maintenance on the existing fabrications to reline and patchwork weld the construction. I enjoy the challenges I face within my company and my knowledge grows vastly after every project I take on is usually bespoke and different.
