I'm a scientist passionate about the nexus of gene editing, therapeutics delivery, and cell-specific targeting and I'm currently working to design the next generation of therapeutics delivery vehicles by applying de novo designed proteins to the extracellular vesicle (EV) field. We have so many great therapeutics which need the next generation of delivery vehicles!I worked to produce retroviral vectors and analyze their integrations within genomes early in my career at the Fred Hutch. Seeing the limitations of naturally-derived viral vectors led me to pursue developing the capabilties of the Enveloped Protein Nanocage (EPN) system, which uses designed proteins to induce engineered EVs at the Institute for Protein Design during my PhD. Since my graduation I've continued to further refine the EPN platform and am excited about the future of this technology and the continued maturation of both the engineered EV and protein design fields!
