Hi All, I have been in the IT field now for 7 years. In 2010 I decided to change Careers from Management/Sales to IT and went back to school for my BAS in Software Systems Engineering (Currently 140 Credits in). I started working for Geek Squad in 2012 as a Consultation Agent, performing on the counter troubleshooting, hardware upgrades, and instructional demonstrations of the new Windows 8/8.1. Within one year of working for Geek Squad I was promoted to the Geek Squad Manager. I continued this role for an additional year having a top quartile performance score each quarter. From there I was promoted to Sales Manager and responsible for all sales associates and the Geek Squad team. Some personal things happened with my Wife, which caused me to have to leave work and move back home (Rochester Area) with my 5 children and seek help from my family so I could continue to work. In Nov of 2016 I started work for a small IT firm that did On-site work and Phone/Remote support. This lasted a few months until I found a better opportunity through Aerotek with a contract position in Concentrix (Call Center). My role here was to provide hands on support for all the agents to keep their PC's running smoothly and troubleshoot any issues that they had with their PC and or needs Sites and Applications for them to successfully do their jobs. I would perform hardware diags, install and configure software, format or reformat machines. Deploy multiple machines (in the 100's) setup and configured to contract specifications either with an image server or manually. I would also setup/troubleshoot phones (VOIP, PoE) for each user. I was also responsible for ensuring profiles were setup properly in AD (Active Directory) in addition to setting up and configuring MS Office including Outlook. We utilized a ticketing system called Remedy, which we would keep track of and utilize to capture notes, keep agents/management informed of ticket prgress, and for reference on similar issues.
