I am a driven, non-traditional engineering graduate with two years of co-op experience. I am seeking a design engineering position where I can apply my experience in design, manufacturing, and cross-functional teamwork. I thrive when leveraging my skills to create tangible value and constantly pushing the boundaries of my learning. I value self-reflection, feedback, and practicing resiliency in the face of challenges. Along with those values, I have two driving philosophies in my work: 1. Factors that are not tracked cannot be managed. I apply this philosophy by diligently identifying and tracking factors that may impact my projects.2. Two percent extra effort applied now saves exponentially more work in the long run. For example, when designing a weldment in Solidworks, I saved hours of rework by creating an organized tree and using global variables. Because of my foresight, the model could be rapidly changed to use locally available materials without breaking or losing critical dimensions.I also nurture a passion for the study of learning and communication. My commitment to finding learning opportunities in all my experiences has been a defining constant in my life. Previously, I applied specific communication and teaching techniques to increase my effectiveness as a safety instructor and STEM tutor. Today, I use those skills to carefully identify the boundaries of all contributors' knowledge to avoid miscommunications and maximize the effectiveness of teams with diverse skill sets.
