I have spent the last 7 years in the QA space of the software industry. I began in feature testing, fell in love with UI automation, and now employ all manner of tools to perform my role as a QA Engineer. I grew to become a product expert in each of my former positions, documenting thoroughly and sharing my knowledge as often as I could. I approach my work seeking opportunities to learn and grow. I enjoy being around those who know more than me, and I immerse myself in the unknown with eager curiosity. This attitude has enabled me to expand my skill set as well as empower and maintain working relationships, both past and present.I work on a healthcare web and mobile platform in my current role. I'm 1 of 3 individuals selected to build a QA department after the company outsourced the testing effort for 8 years. Our initial task was to create a UI automation framework from scratch, which we accomplished in about 6 months. We've now been incorporated into sprint work, performing feature testing and building upon our automated regression suite wherever possible.In my previous role, I worked on a platform with many clients on a shared codebase. The product was a patient engagement mobile app controlled by web portal configs and third party integrations. Due to its nature, testing took many forms: UI/UX, API, load, and defect testing, regression, automation, etc. I also obtained an intimate knowledge of the differences that come with Windows vs. MacOS and Android vs. iOS.I enjoy working independently as well as collaborating with others. My ideal role is a cross-functional one: work with Design to help inform UX decision-making; review requirements with Product to identify gaps; collaborate with Dev to understand implementation; and of course work with fellow QA folks to divide and conquer validation needs. I've excelled in my roles because I pay fine attention to all scenarios, and I communicate effectively in both written and spoken word. QA offers a special bridge between teams, and I've been praised as a stalwart QA "who gets it."Tools I use on a regular basis include Jira, Bitbucket, Test Rail, VS Code, Cypress, SQL, ACCELQ, and Azure DevOps. Those I've used in the past include TFS, PyCharm, Postman, Firebase, GitLab, Xcode, Figma, and Zeplin. In my time in the QA space I've proven to be a self-motivated and rapid learner. I've worked in tight-knit, small teams that deliver efficiently without compromising the integrity of the product. I take pride in what I do, and I'm grateful I found the role.
