Central Library

Responsible for the management and efficient operation of the Portsmouth Library and Archive Services delivered by the Central Library and eight branches. Responsible for the management of buildings, equipment, stock and staff, directly managing the Library Managers, the Modern and Historical Records Officers in the Portsmouth History Centre and the team of library Driver/Attendants and Admin Officer. This work supports the delivery of a quality public library service, based on principles of equality, human rights and social justice for all, in order to meet the learning and recreational needs of all who live, work or study in the city and those who seek to engage with services from elsewhere.
