As part of the engineering maintenance team at Perth mail centre we are responsible for ensuring all mail and parcels can be processed within a set time frame. Machines include Toshiba letter sequencer, Siemens Large letter sorter, Barcode letter processers, integrated material handling conveyors (belt and roller), Beumer Parcel sorter. Placed with MEEC electrical contractor we are working on a range of projects with CBH and Water Corp across Perth and regional WA.We perform upgrades and repairs on a range of electrical equipment at any of the clients sites. This includes switchboard upgrades, loop replacement and checking of instrumentation and complete vendor package installations. We install, commission and remove redundant equipment along side the customer. Most recently I have been working on Water corp chemical dosing plant upgrades providing instrumentation guidance and also Electrical repairs to damaged cables inground.

Placed with BHP on a 6 month fixed term contract at the Mooka ore car repair workshop. This facility is a fully automated workshop that uses an intergrated crane, CNC machine and Automated operator stations to facilitate repairs and maintenance.As part the Electrical maintenace team we assist with machine breakdowns on all equipment including Gudel cranes, Danabat and AGV's. We report directly back to our supervision and liase with production to achieve the optimal results with the process. We are also responisble for save and effective interactions with the BHP rail network.

In a small field support team in the Pilbara that provides onsite support to Rio Tinto’s automated drilling platform. The system is only 3 years out of deployment and we are heavily involved in the rapid evolution of this product. The system interfaces with an OEM platform and requires broad knowledge of PLC operation, CAN BUS, OEM operation systems, electrical, instrumentation and hydraulics. I am responsible for planning, executing and follow up of all planned maintenance, breakdown maintenance, safety and closure of all work onsite. This includes managing my own time, attending all meetings with supervision, provide feedback to management and generate reports.

Our day to day can include replacement and /or recalibration of instrumentation that monitors level, position, temperature and pressure. Electrical tasks can include HV switches, motor testing, cable replacements, switchgear testing and loop testing of emergency safety circuits. In this role I am required to perform safely and promptly in real time to ensure the job is done correctly.
