I was attracted to this position due to having developed an interest for marketing whilst studying at University. Throughout my time at Yell I have progressed through multiple product tiers. After just four months of working at Yell I was assigned to the ‘Plus Team’, responsible for producing websites for the higher spending customers. Two months later me and 3 others were selected to spearhead our new e-commerce website. This role has given me experience working in a fast-paced office environment, where impeccable organisational skills and attention to detail are of the utmost importance.

This role has given me the confidence to accurately discuss technical information with customers, to ensure that they understand the complexities of the items they are purchasing. In addition, I have become practiced in persuasion and negotiation techniques. Also, due to the nature of a face-to-face sales position, I have learned to deliver effective customer service, in regards to proficient conflict resolution and any other issues likely to arise in a customer facing position.

I originally started working at Flamingo Land on a temporary basis, due to being in-between jobs. After getting a promotion to Rides Trainer, the position became permanent. The main responsibilities associated with this position were to train staff on how to safely and efficiently operate the rides, adhering to strict health and safety guidelines, checking rides and perimeter fencing for hazards, and providing customer service to the parks visitors.
