My technical experience is in areas of mechanical and systems engineering, systems safety, quantitative risk assessment, reliability, fault/event tree and RAM analysis, structural analysis, strength and fatigue assessments, hydrodynamics and vessel motions analysis, vortex-induced vibration (VIV) predictions and fatigue analysis, riser and mooring verification and simulation work, and forensic failure and legal investigative work. Previously, I was the Team Lead for AMOG's Systems & Safety Engineering Team and also the General Manager of Personnel at AMOG. I led a team of approximately 10 engineers, coordinating daily project activities, such as the planning and conduct of system safety programs (including development of Safety Case Reports and supporting OQE), safety-focused regulatory impact analyses, reliability analysis of complex infrastructure systems (RAM), regulatory compliance assessments of Major Hazard Facilities (MHFs), and quantitative risk assessment numerical analyses.I was also involved in AMOG’s development of innovative products to mitigate the impact of Vortex-induced Vibration (VIV) and drag on slender bodies in moving water, predominantly for the offshore drilling industry. This work involved the technology development lifecycle from small scale testing and rapid prototyping of design concepts, system analysis and numerical modelling to predict behaviour at larger scales, larger scale model testing and validation of design (at Canada's NRC facility in St. John’s, Newfoundland), and subsequent performance analysis to predict and measure the behaviour of the new technology in full scale deployments and real world conditions.I have now taken up an extraordinary opportunity to work with Melbana Energy as a Senior Engineer assisting with the conceptual development and planning of surface facilities for their exciting Block 9 development onshore in Cuba.
