PhD Candidate exploring how the lived experience oral narratives of those in cancer survivorship impact the attitudes and behaviours of tertiary healthcare students in the practise of patient-centred care. I'm excited to use this project in furthering the improvements of cancer survivorship, create a network of multidisciplinary health providers and further my skills sets in critical thinking, public speaking, and research.Since 2013 I have worked as a Chiropractor thoughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK in private practice. For the last several years I have done this part-time as I took on a role from 2018 to 2021 with Camp Quality as the Program Coordinator for SA and Tasmania. Both positions have provided me skill sets in people management (both individual and large groups), critical thinking, problem solving, budgeting, event planning and management. My roles and experiences have also led to several public speaking opportunities to health professionals, university students on patient and health provider relationships, and presenting to workplaces on office ergonomics. Also being a cancer survivor, I have given regular talks on the patient experience of cancer to students and health care providers.I currently hold a bachelor degree in Health Science, a bachelor degree with honours in Psychological Science (where I did research in cognitive psychology for the defence force looking at humanistic factors in human-robot teaming), and my Masters degree in Clinical Chiropractic.
