• Preparing annual budgets for five Business Units in Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya and Africa) and recording the budgets in Quickbooks.• Reviewing accounts records on monthly basis for the 5 BUs (Business Units).• Preparing monthly Management reports (budgets vs actuals) for all the BUs in Africa and presenting them to the management on time.• Recruiting & Training accountants in all the BUs in Africa (7 people reporting to me).• Preparing monthly cash budgets, managing tight cash and reporting on the variances at the end of the month.• Overseeing & coordinating audit for all the business units in line with the audit timetable.• Overseeing the implementation of the group policies in the 5 BUs in Africa and putting up policies to fill in the gaps to ensure tight ICS.• As a signatory of all the bank accounts in Africa, directing the flow of cash on all the BUs in Africa while ensuring no delays in repatriation of cash.• Scouting for finance opportunities & overseeing the financing process in Africa.• Overseeing grant reporting and ensuring reporting is done on time.• Handling Letter of Credit for Ethiopia customers.• Structuring the HR department in Africa and ensuring that HR policies align with the overall strategy.• Ensuring statutory compliance in all the BUs in Africa to reduce risk and exposure especially in import and export of goods.
