About Daniel Kim
I graduated Pepperdine University as an international management major, but my interest and curiosity in the hospitality industry led me in a different direction. With no previous experience managing a kitchen, I worked my way up from an intern to a chef de partie. Working in LA’s top kitchens (Beverly Hilton, Rocksugar, Craft, Sona). I learned attention to detail, sense of urgency, and above all working well with people. I then decided to take accounting classes at UCLA in 2009. I excelled in accounting and finance and I found myself as a staff accountant for various companies, including The Cheesecake Factory. In 2014, an opportunity arose and I decided to entered into the rigorous MIT (manager-in-training) program for The Cheesecake Factory. I utilized my background in the restaurant industry as well as my background in finance to become a successful restaurant manager for the Cheesecake Factory.In June 2019, I started a new chapter of my career with Chick-fil-A as the Director of Hospitality. I was part of the Grand Opening Team and since 2019, I've continued to help grow our Chick-fil-A Franchise. We've set records year over year in terms of sales, staff growth/retention and hospitality scores. I've also taken on other roles to help the current needs of the business as well (HR Director, Drive-Thru Special projects).
