I was promoted to the role as a Ships Agency Supervisor in March 2022, which involved relocating and managing the Great Yarmouth office. It’s my responsibility to lead the day-to-day ships agency activities, ensuring KPI’s are met, and the department is operated within budget. I have to ensure all agency staff work to the highest professional standard with clients, owners, vessel staff and internal stakeholders. My role is key to developing staff members to fulfill potential and develop within the company, ensuring that competency for all staff is attained, maintained, and enhanced. The main aspect of my role is to manage and grow the business unit, working with all stakeholders to identify needs and requirements are met.

For any vessels that come into port, I am responsible for making sure all requests are fulfilled and done in a timely manner. This varies from; HMRC documentation / port clearances, coordinating crew changes, provisions and local purchasing, quayside coordination, cargo documentation, and the transportation of freight and personnel. My role was based in Aberdeen, but also worked in Peterhead, Montrose, Lerwick and Great Yarmouth.

My role involved following projects in excess of up to £100,000 from start to finish and coordinating the distribution of personnel and materials to make sure the project was completed on time and on budget. I was made redundant from this role due to Covid-19.
