About Daniel Knudson
I am an Architectural draftsman and a recent graduate of the Architectural Design and Drafting program at Portland Community College. My passion for making things by hand has driven me to explore various techniques and materials, ultimately fostering a deep appreciation for form and architecture. I strongly believe that designs should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, considering the impact of one’s surroundings on their experience. I often reflect on the sense of fulfillment and connection that a well designed space can bring. Aside from my formal education, I have 5+ years of experience working professionally as a draftsman, in both a structural and architectural capacity, under Architects and Engineers, respectively. I have worked in offices and independently under contract with a variety of CAD software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Bluebeam. I am currently employed by DR Horton as a CAD Technician and Permitting Specialist.

In this role, I worked with several Architects on a contract basis, where I would perform a variety of drafting services such as creating site plans and construction documents and taking designs from paper space to model space. In this remote role, I was responsible for managing my time responsibly, coordinating projects between multiple sets of hands, and communicating efficiently and in a timely manner.
