I am responsible for the day to day handling of claims; namely liaising with clients and underwriters, as well as advising on coverage and negotiating settlements. I work with some of AJG’s largest financial clients, with particular focus on; investment firms, independent financial advisors, banks, corporate service providers and trusts. I am also responsible for AJG’s book of cyber claims located in various worldwide jurisdictions, with a particular focus on North America.

During my two month paid internship I thoroughly understood the fundamentals behind how a successful business operates. I spent my time working between each of the following departments: Purchase Ledger - I learnt how the financial transactions of a large scale business are managed successfully and efficiently.Management Accounts - Here I assisted the management accountants by helping to prepare the financial statements as well as detailed information for management decisions. Treasury - Here I learnt how the money coming in and out of the business was monitored, as well as ensuring all this money reached the bank.

Working within the Feed in Tarrif team, I spent the majority of my time responding to clients' queries through email and phone, other customer care issues, as well as inputting and analysing data using Excel and other large databases. Due to a change in sign up deadlines due to a tariff change, I had to work quickly and without error, in order to submit new customers details to the government.
