Daniel Kunkel, GM Engineering Solutions in Shell is passionate for driving world class performance across the Engineering lifecycle for Shells mobility network of more than 46.000 retail outlets, leading more than 600.000 activities p.a. to meet fast changing customer expectations. Designing, developing and deploying commercially relevant technologies to foster more and cleaner energy solutions (e.g. EV, LNG, H2) as well as to decarbonise our business is at the heart of what this community does - a motivation to overcome complex challenges to shape a more sustainable future. In January 2022, Daniel became CEO of ubitricity, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shell that specializes in electric vehicle charging technology development and operation. ubitricity is known for using the existing infrastructure for urban on-street EV charging by retrofitting streetlight lamp posts and bollards with EV charging points. Daniel joined energy sector in 1997 and spend most of the time in customer facing businesses and used his passion and strengths in building winning teams, innovating customer relevant solutions and driving commercial results. Daniel Kunkel lived in Germany, Malaysia and UK, where he held earlier a number of leadership positions at a local, regional and international level, ranging from strategic to operational perspectives.
