Development specialist and practical trainer with 23 years’ experience in underground mining both in Australia and in Indonesia. Currently Australia wide Jumbo drill operator trainer with Pybar specializing in reducing over break, improving excavation profiles and ground support compliance. Recently I worked for 5 years in Newcrest’s Gosowong operations in the Kencana gold mine which has some of the most challenging ground conditions in the world. For two and a half years I trained and developed national personnel in heavy equipment operations and the use of specialised mining methods such as under hand cut and fill, ground consolidating resin injection, void filling and the installation of self-drilling anchors aimed at improving the safety and productivity of the mine. I was then promoted to mine Foreman responsible for managing 3 crews of 55 men each, to achieve safe production targets in line with the mine budget.
