Recognizing the importance of integration as highlighted in policy, I realized that there was insufficient knowledge about its achievements and shortcomings. This knowledge gap has resulted in a health and social care system that, in some areas, fails to adequately support those who need it the most. Furthermore, there is limited evidence regarding the efficiency levels of integration, particularly within the field of neurology. Developing a system that is responsive to the individual and fluctuating needs of service users proves to be a challenging task.With a particular emphasis on the central belt of Scotland, I successfully delivered documentation that provided insights into performance levels, service availability, and areas requiring improvement. Unlike individual Integrated Joint Board (IJB) strategic plans, these documents allow for easy comparison and contrast, and they naturally evolve over time.In summary, my previous role involved actively seeking collaboration opportunities, supporting external news publications, and cultivating the MS Society’s network.
