- Consultant in the Wealth Management division of the National Australia Bank (MLC). - My responsibilities entail the assessment of liability and the total end to end management of a portfolio of claims for Income Protection, Critical Illness and Total and Permanent Disability.- This management includes the assessment and calculation of both pre and post-disability earnings (including tax returns / profit and loss statements); the thorough review of medical history for disclosure purposes; and the review and assessment of the current medical information against the Insured’s pre-disability employment in accordance with the relevant Policy.- Requires assessment against relevant Policy definitions to determine liability, and then management post initial assessment to achieve closure of the claim.- Includes liaising with relevant stakeholders; both external (the client, the financial planners and advisors, the legal representative and the medical practitioners) and internal (the underwriter in instances of non-disclosure; and independent medical authorities).- Requires the ability to assess new client’s financial needs against their current banking portfolio, and make recommendations where improvement was required.- An authority level without signoff of $100,000 AUD lump sum, and $7,500 AUD per month Income Protection.- Key performance indicator of a total of $30 million AUD per month in DLR savings across the wealth management division, met by 30 Sept 2015.

 From September 2011 to June 2013 I worked in a Strategic Project Management role, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe Victoria’s High Value Work Practices. My responsibilities encompassed identifying risk across three Annual Performance Adjustment (APA) measures, and monitoring compliance across these measures accordingly. Developing and conducting regular training programmes with staff to ensure compliance protocol are met. Liaised with the Risk and Compliance governing body in regular meetings, ensuring any issues were dealt with in a satisfactory and timely manner. Conducting conferencing reviews of claims that impact Return to Work Index, reviewing strategies on the claims to positively affect continuance rates. The three APA measures I was responsible for make the organisation in excess of $1.4 million per annum. Subject Matter Expert at the bi-annual audits, which includes attending audit close out meetings and responding to results if required. Developed and managed daily and monthly management reporting detailing KPI’s and claim outcomes.
