Front Of House Supervisor
The Niblick At The R&A World Golf Museum
St. Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom
Having joined as a Waiter, my performance led to my promotion to Front of House Supervisor in May. My primary duty was to provide guidance, direction and leadership to FOH staff during daily service. Achievements included the introduction of a daily service plan assigning staff to specific tasks to ensure a more effective service. I was responsible, under the guidance of my manager, for stock control and placing orders in liaison with the Head Chef. Other duties included the management of the restaurant’s email inbox, ensuring that queries from customers and other areas of our business were resolved promptly. I built relationships with colleagues across the R&A and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club to highlight The Niblick. This helped ensure that our restaurant was operating according to a business plan devised by members of our organisation’s senior management team.Skills and experience demonstrated:-The ability to lead, instruct, provide feedback and motivation to a mixed ability team-Managing competing priorities and deadlines in dealing with day-to-day administrative tasks while overseeing service-Working with supervisors and management as part of a team working towards an agreed business plan-Paying attention to detail in setting the restaurant for events and functions; ensuring the room is correctly arranged for the event requirements, tables are correctly set etc.
