I am a passionate individual who believes that HR is about good communication with staff and making things work within for the greater good of the organisation. Throughout my career, held various opportunities that further honed this belief.With the Singapore Armed Forces, my last tour of duty was the Head Manpower of the Engineering Formation. Responsible for the smooth running of manpower matters, ranging from Performance matters to Career Development of engineers and technicians of the Army. I have the opportunity of working closely with my Commanders and providing manpower advices.After leaving the Singapore Armed Forces, had the opportunity to work as a recruitment consultant in PeopleSearch and CTES Consulting. I learnt and experienced in-depth interviewing and assessing the skills of candidates. I handled business development with several clients as well. When I moved on to National Healthcare Group (Group Talent Management and Scholarship) and the Agency of Integrated Care (Employment Facilitation), I had the opportunity to engage various internal and external stakeholders. During these opportunities, I have to work closely with my stakeholders in understanding their needs, developing resources and even retention strategies.Eventually opportunities led me to NTUC LearningHub where I was attached to NTUC for a Learning and Development role, building up the various aspects of L&D for the organisation. Ranging from defining Career Progression Roadmap, and Competency Roadmap to working with vendors for Learning Needs and upgrading in-house Learning Management System. After completion of the attachment, I returned to NTUC LearningHub as a Product Manager for Customer Excellence training programme. Portfolio grew when I have to head the People Excellence training programmes where I had to turn-around the programmes from the "red" to achieving 150% of targeted revenue.Currently in the role as Vice-President of HCLI, I took on 3 roles (Head of HR, Head of Programme Support and Programme Director). These 3 roles gave me the opportunity to play a deeper role in being the bridge (in the form of HR) between the management team and the logistics end of the company, at the same time, being able to share insights and build insights as the Programme Director of our HR Leaders Programme. Tough work but well worth the learnings and opportunities.
