• Responsible for directing patient care within clinics, hospitals, and operating rooms by performing various duties. Responsible for promptly following through with physicians’ orders, administering medications as ordered, following clinic policies and procedures, and performing all other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or administration.• Responsible for educating patients prior to procedures, obtaining screening information from the patients for the physician and relaying information between patients and provider over the phone when necessary. Responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures of credentialed hospitals when performing duties under the privileges established in that setting.• Responsible for covering weekly satellite clinics and hospital rounds in Baton Rouge and Northshore areas. Responsible for call on the Northshore weekly and weekend call in Baton Rouge approximately six weekends per year. Responsible for first-assisting in surgery cases no less than one Saturday per month on the Northshore and also rotating surgery days in Baton Rouge and the Northshore during the week with other extenders.• Expected to use effort to maintain patient confidentiality by safeguarding the patient’s Protected Health Information as outlined in the HIPPA regulations. Responsible for obtaining screening data prior to examination and documenting this information in the electronic medical record in accordance with NMC policy.

• Responsible for providing technical support services and functions under the supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC). Assisted with the delivery of patient care by functioning as a member of the surgical team. Primarily involved in team assistance, which includes anesthesia technical support, sterile supply management, case cart preparation, inventory control and direct patient care activities under the direction of the PCC.
